Fear and Anxiety

There is sooooo much going on in the world today and honestly, maybe there has always been. From politics to finances or lack thereof, many of us are living in a constant state of fear and anxiety. As someone who makes a conscious effort to surround myself with only positive energy, I have had to learn how to calm my fears and anxiety and of course this has been a journey. I feel fear, and I feel anxiety. I have had to learn how not to let my fears and anxiety have any power in the decisions that I make on a daily basis. This took me having to learn how to be aware of my thoughts and feelings at each moment so that I can know the exact moment that I feel the fear or anxiety. So when I have a thought that is scary or uncomfortable or have a conversation with someone and the topic of the conversation is scary or uncomfortable, I have to instantly change my thoughts or responses in the conversation to something positive.

I have been informed by some people close to me that many of my responses are weird, disconnected, and sometimes unhelpful. However, the only way that I can maintain peace in an atmosphere of fear and anxiety is to tell myself and everyone I come into contact with, “I am at peace” or “There is no obstacle that stands in my way” or “We are all powerful beings” or “Fear is not a factor, I am free.” I will continue to have this mindset because since the moment I adopted it, it changed my life dramatically. I finally felt free to feel what I feel and do what I want despite of initially feeling pressure from society to fit into a box and live a life driven by fear.

So years later, I abstain from watching the news. I homeschool my children. I surround myself with only positive people and many good times. I check every thought that I have to make sure that thought is positive and loving. And I choose love and peace first in every decision that I make and every interaction that I have with others and this is how I conquer fear and anxiety.
